Horizonte-Countdown 2014 | Alessandro Sala

»Die Kritik hat »One World« als sehr spezielles kleines »fotografisches Welttheater« bezeichnet.« So sagt es der Pressetext zu der Ausstellung, an der 12 fotogloria-Fotografen während des siebten Umweltfotofestivals »Horizonte Zingst« ihre Arbeiten zeigen. Mit dazu gehört Alessandro Sala und seine Strecke »Fuck for Forest« (in Zusammenarbeit mit unserem italienischen Partner LUZphotos).

WHAT
»Fuck for Forest« is an erotic, no profit ecological organization, based in Berlin. It is the world’s first eco-porn organization and may be the only porn website specifically created to raise money for a cause, over 80 percent of the money goes to charities that work to preserve the world’s rain forests.
The organisation’s unorthodox methods have made it difficult to distribute the money it makes, as a result, »Fuck for Forest« is working on a project to work directly with indigenous communities in Costa Rica, Perù and the Brazilian Amazon rainforest.

WHERE
I shoot these images inside the »Fuck for Forest« headquarters in Berlin, where some members live.

WHY
I would like to show this interesting world that I first met when I was shooting a reportage about rainbow family gathering in Portugal.

HOW
Nothing special about the technique, the really difficult thing was organize the shooting date.

WHO
I started to work as a photographer in a commercial studio in Milan, Controluce, where I improved my technical skill about light and studio equipment. In the same time I attended a photojournalism course at John Kaverdash Accademy in Milan. Right after this period, in 2005 I met my master Alex Majoli and start to work with him for 7 years in countless number of different projects. In this period we put the basis to the creation of a studio where young photographers works together and promote their independent projects. In May 2008 Cesura opened. Now after 6 years Cesura is a strong group of photographers, that works with editorial market, museum and personal project, we also create our own printing house, Cesura Publish, and printing lab, Cesura Lab.

Horizonte-Countdown 2014 | Didier Ruef

Am 24ten Mai ist es soweit: Das siebte Umweltfotofestival »Horizonte Zingst« wird eröffnet. In diesem Jahr wieder einmal mit dabei: Didier Ruef – in Zingst bereits ein alter Bekannter. Seine Strecke »Animals‘ World« wurde auszugweise zuerst in der 2013er-Gruppenausstellung »One World« und später im Jahr in einer Einzelausstellung in der Leica Galerie Zingst gezeigt.

In diesem Jahr hängt seine Arbeit »Recycle« (in Zusammenarbeit mit unserem italienischen Partner LUZphotos), erneut in der Gruppenausstellung »One World«.

Und: In diesem Jahr gibt Didier Ruef auch einen Master-Fotoworkshop zum Festival – mehr Infos dazu gibt es HIER.

WHAT
For centuries man has recovered and recycled the residues of his production activities. Then came the era of waste and dumping. Today, faced with demographic and economic growth and the shrinking of the planet, it is no longer possible to bury our refuse and toxic waste with the illusion that we have disposed of it forever, that they have been irreversibly sterilized. The aim of »Recycle« is to raise awareness about the state of our planet which has been invaded and contaminated by an abundance of waste. My aim as a photographer is not to offer solutions but to highlight the issue of waste through a documentary approach on a human level.

WHO
Didier Ruef, born in 1961, is based in Lugano, Switzerland and works as a freelance documentary photographer. Ruef’s photographs have been published in major international magazines and newspapers, such as Time, The Observer Magazine, Daily Telegraph, Le Monde, El Pais Semanal, Geo, Marie Claire, D La Republica, Der Spiegel, National Geographic Germany, Die Zeit, Neue Zürcher Zeitung. Horizonte-Countdown 2014 | Federico Ciamei

»Das ganze Kaleidoskop zeitgemäßer Thematik im Zusammenhang mit Natur und Umwelt zu bearbeiten und wirkungsvolle Aussagen damit zu gestalten«, ist für Kurator Klaus Tiedge Herausforderung und Vergnügen zugleich – bei der jährlich wiederkehrenden Bilderschau des Umweltfotofestivals »Horizonte Zingst«, das am 24. Mai 2014 zum siebten Mal eröffnet wird.

In diesem Jahr sind 13 fotogloria-Fotografen und ihre Arbeiten in den Ausstellungen mit dabei. Wir stellen im »Horizonte-Countdown« jeden Tag einen von Ihnen vor. Heute ist es Federico Ciamei (in Zusammenarbeit mit unserem italienischen Partner LUZphotos) und seine Arbeit »Diorama«, in Zingst zu sehen in der Gruppenausstellung »One World«. Viel Spaß!

I like when its not clear if something is for real or not, when a photo is more about what is hidden than what is showing

HOW
Handheld digital camera with a fixed 50mm lens

WHO
– I like to work on stories about people with unlikely or impossible dreams.
– I’m attracted by images that are not complete or perfect, I want something missing so that the viewer can jump in and ideally add something.
– I really enjoy working with film instead of digital, so I use it whenever I can.
– I grow up in the center of Rome. About twenty years ago it was still possible to sneak inside the Colosseo at night where I played a roman version of hide and seek with my friends, we named the game Bastardi Gladiatori.
– I like playing soccer, but I’m not really good at it.
